When I was a child, my parents gave me a brownie camera before a trip to Florida. I took a picture of a dolphin with a small stick on it’s nose. I loved playing with my camera on that trip, and once I returned home and saw the black and white image, printed on a small square of paper, there was no turning back. A door to image making was opened.
I became a painter and received my Master’s degree in Drawing. However, a few years ago I rediscovered the magic that photography originally held for me and I have been pursuing it avidly ever since.
I believe that the language of photography can reveal knowledge, inspire, and speak to the deepest and most profound of human emotions and experience.
I have been fortunate to have had my work published and to have won awards, but mostly I feel fortunate that I can spend my life in visual inquiry.
